The present invention relates to a method for treating depression by optogenetic stimulation at left medial prefrontal cortex. More specifically, it is verified that a social interaction due to stress is closely associated with left medial prefrontal cortex, and that the social interaction can be controlled by optogenetic stimulation at the left medial prefrontal cortex based on the above results. Therefore, the method for expressing channel rhodopsin at the left medial prefrontal cortex can be effectively used to treat depression using an optogenetic stimulation means.본 발명은 좌뇌 내측 전전두엽의 광자극적 자극을 통한 우울증 치료방법에 관한 것으로, 구체적으로 스트레스에 따른 사회적 상호작용이 좌뇌 내측 전전두엽(left medial prefrontal cortex)과 밀접한 관련성이 있고, 상기 결과를 바탕으로 좌뇌 내측 전전두엽에 광자극을 통하여 사회적 상호작용을 조절할 수 있음을 확인하여, 좌뇌 내측 전전두엽에 채널로돕신을 발현시키고, 광자극을 주는 수단을 이용하여 우울증의 치료에 유용하게 사용될 수 있음을 확인하였다.
