This flexible manipulator (1) comprises: an oblong, flexible insertion part (2); a mobile part (3) that is attached to a tip end of the insertion part; a drive part (4) that is attached to a base end of the insertion part and generates motive force; and a long, narrow motive force transmission member (5) that transmits said motive force to the mobile part. The insertion part comprises: an oblong, flexible core member (7); and a plurality of ring plate members (8) that are fixed at intervals in the longitudinal direction of the core member. Each ring plate member comprises: a center hole (9) through which the core member is passed; and a plurality of through holes (10) that are arranged around the center hole at intervals in the circumferential direction.
