The present invention relates to a crosslinkable chitosan composition comprising chitosan having a degree of deacetylation of 30 to 75% and a crosslinking agent, wherein the chitosan is randomly deacetylated and the molar ratio of the crosslinking agent to chitosan is 1 or less, based on the number of functional groups and the number of amino groups accessible in the chitosan, is 0.2: 1 or less.
