PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting apparatus capable of lowering the height of a lighting device.SOLUTION: According to the present invention, a lighting apparatus 100 comprises a base unit 10 and a housing 20. The base unit 10 comprises a substrate 11 and a heat sink 12. The front surface 13 of the substrate 11 has a structure capable of attaching illumination. Further, the heat sink 12 is disposed on the back surface 14 of the substrate 11. The housing 20 is capable of accommodating a power supply, and is disposed on the side of the base unit 10 in the longitudinal direction in a manner connected to the base unit 10. Further, the housing 20 has a structure in which its back surface 25 can be opened and closed, and thus power can be turned on from the back side 25. In addition, the base unit 10 and the casing 20 extend in a straight line in the column direction.
