PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article excellent in fitness to the body, and hardly causing turning-up of a flap when wearing.SOLUTION: An absorbent article having a symmetrical shape to a center line extending along the longitudinal direction, and a prescribed thickness includes: a liquid permeable top sheet provided on one side in the thickness direction of the absorbent article a liquid non-permeable or water-repellent back sheet provided on the other side in the thickness direction and a liquid holding absorbent member interposed therebetween and three-dimensional gathers capable of standing to the upper side of the top sheet on the one side. The outer periphery of the absorbent article is specified by a flap which extends to a surface direction specified by the longitudinal direction, and the width direction orthogonal to both longitudinal direction and thickness direction, and where the absorbent member does not exist.
