A method for propagating a Populus seedling using an early cuttage method in accordance with the present invention comprises the steps of: harvesting branches having a diameter of 0.3-1 cm in October to December after leaves of branches fall off from a Populus seed tree; cutting the harvested branches by a length of 15 to 30 cm to be prepared as branches for cuttage; treating the branches for cuttage at a low temperature of 0 to 5°C; and cutting the branches for cuttage, which are treated at low temperatures, on the surface in October to December. The method for propagating a Populus seedling using an early cuttage method in accordance with the present invention has a great effect of increasing a production amount of seedlings by shortening a production period of seedlings by cutting using twigs of a Populus seed tree. Moreover, a tree grown in accordance with the present invention can be used as veneer (chopstick, match wood, skewer, toothpick), pulp, plywood, packing materials, etc.
