Process for improving the sensory properties of a topical emulsion (E0) of the oil-in-water type comprising for 100% of its mass, from 1% to 30% by weight of glycerol, characterized in that it is incorporated in said emulsion for topical use (E0) of the oil-in-water type, an effective amount of a mixture (M1) of linear or branched cyclic or acyclic saturated hydrocarbons of which at least 95% by weight comprises from fifteen to ten nine carbon atoms. A new emulsion for topical use of oil-in-water type (E) comprising said mixture (M1)； its use in cosmetics. Procédé pour améliorer les propriétés sensorielles d'une émulsion à usage topique (E0) de type huile-dans-eau comprenant pour 100% de sa masse, de 1% à 30% massique de glycérol, caractérisé en ce que l'on incorpore dans ladite émulsion à usage topique (E0) de type huile-dans-eau, une quantité efficace d'un mélange (M1) d'hydrocarbures saturés cycliques ou acycliques, linéaires ou ramifiés parmi lesquels au moins 95% massique comportent de quinze à dix-neuf atomes de carbone. Nouvelle émulsion à usage topique de type huile-dans-eau (E) comprenant ledit mélange (M1)； son utilisation en cosmétique.
