PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope insertion device capable of easily and smoothly performing insertion operation and preventing a foreign matter from penetrating into the insertion part of the insertion device at the time of insertion operation.SOLUTION: The endoscope insertion device 1 for inserting an endoscope 50 into the deep part of the colon 99 includes: a first opening and closing unit 10 freely moving in the direction of an insertion axis a second opening and closing unit 20 freely moving on the axis of the first opening and closing unit 10 and opening and closing part sets 11 and 21 equipped with a first opening and closing member 15a equipped with the contact member 30 provided to the first opening and closing unit 10, freely expanded and contracted in the diametric direction thereof and brought into contact with the colon 99 when diametrically expanded, a second opening and closing member 25a equipped with the contact member 30 provided to the second opening and closing unit 20 and opening and closing holding parts 16 and 26 for changing over the opening and closing states of the first opening and closing member 15a and the second opening and closing member 25a.
