The invention relates to a method and an equipment for acting upon hailstone-potential clouds by using air-to-air missiles launched from an airborne platform. According to the invention, the method consists in seeding the clouds with forming hail, using an airborne platform (PA) and some air-to-air anti-hail missiles (11) launched from non-guided reactive missile launchers (15). According to the invention, the equipment comprises a meteorological radar (1) mounted inside a composite material container (2) and electrically-connected by some cables (3) to a display device (4) which achieves the video display of information on the cloud structure and density and to a computer (5) wherein there are acquired digital data from some sensors placed inside another container (6), namely: a sensor (7) measuring the total amount of water in the cloud, a sensor (8) measuring the static pressure and a sensor (9) measuring the size of solid particles in the cloud the information on the platform position in space is transmitted by a differential GPS (10) and the zones of possible launching of anti-hail missiles (11) are precalculated by the computer (5), the information being transmitted by supply cables or data cables (12) and, after processing the information received from the attached sensors, alert codes are displayed on the display device (4) to allow intervention means to be employed in case of a favourable decision, a distribution box (14) is activated to permit the anti-hail missiles (11) to be launched from the launchers (15), and in case the purpose of the mission is changed, there can be used AgI cartridges (17) mounted inside some containers (18), in this case, some distribution boxes (19) located inside said containers (18) being primed.
