biotechnology, microbiology, biochemistry. SUBSTANCE: strain is isolated from soil samples of chemical production by method of step adaptation using acrylonitrile as a selecting agent. Strain is able to grow on the simple semisynthetic medium containing acetate as carbon source and corn extract as a source of additional growth factors. Strain does not require rich nutrient media and additional inductors. On the basis of combined morphological, cultural and biochemical properties the strain is referred to genus Alcaligenes of species denitrificans. Strain Alcaligenes denitrificans C-32 VKV B-2243D shows the more high specific activity of nitrilase with respect to acrylonitrile as a substrate that is 555.6 mmole/g/h at 30 C. Maximal nitrilase activity of cells of the strain 1606.0 mmole/g/h is observed at 65 C. Enzymatic activity of strain is appeared in broad range of temperatures 0-70 C and values of pH 4-12. Invention can be used for production of acrylic and other carboxylic acids. EFFECT: strain indicated
