PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plant cultivation technique enabling saving labor in work of setting cell seedlings in a cultivation tank, making the cultivation tank lightweight and easy to hold and transport, and performing necessary and satisfactory sprinkling through intermittently sprinkling water to the cultivation tank at relatively long time intervals. SOLUTION: The device for cultivating plants is composed of a cultivation bag 14 formed in an oblong bag-like shape using a material with water permeability, the cultivation tank 11 made of a water retainable material 15 with water retainability put into the inside of the cultivation bag 14, and sprinkling devices 7 and 8 for sprinkling water to the water retainable material 15. As plant cultivation is performed in the cultivation tank 11 through inserting the root balls of cell seedlings into the cultivation tank 11, it is possible to make the cultivation tank 11 lightweight and to intend for labor saving in work of setting and improvement of transportation, and also water may be intermittently sprinkled as the water retainable material retains a large quantity of water.
