PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare flavoring sauce for steamed food, capable of keeping the stuffy smell of steam, capable of enhancing the flavor of spicy vegetable raw material and maintaining the taste for a long time, and useful for a pot- steamed hotchpotch, etc., by including spicy vegetables consisting of dried raw material and raw (or fresh) one. SOLUTION: This flavoring sauce for steamed food is prepared by including spicy vegetable raw material such as a ginger, a garlic, celery or the like which consists of dried raw material and raw (or fresh) one. It is pref. that the ratio of the dried raw material to the raw (or fresh) one is 1:(0.5-50), and the sauce contains 1-20 wt.% (esp. 510 wt.%) spicy vegetable raw material and is paste- like.
