PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polymer gel for sustained release of a medicine, in which the kind of the medicine to be included in the polymer gel is not limited, which is safe to eye tissue and has excellent feeling of wearing on the eyes, controls release of the medicine and effectively develops sustained-release performances, and an eye lens comprising the same.SOLUTION: The polymer gel for the sustained release of the medicine is obtained by coating the surface of the polymer gel with an acrylic acid ester-based hydrophobic polymer layer. The acrylic acid ester-based hydrophobic polymer layer is formed by polymerizing at least one kind of a compound represented by the formula R1-O-CO-CR2=CH2 (R1 is a 1-10C alkyl group, or the like R2 is hydrogen atom or methyl group).
