The present invention provides an imaging apparatus in which a dispersive-Fourier-transformed probe beam (14) is spatially mapped by a dispersive Fourier transform unit and irradiated on a test object (18, 20), transmitted light (15) from the test object (18, 20) is detected, and an image is generated on the basis of the transmitted light (15). Therefore, it is possible to irradiate the test object (18, 20) with a weak probe beam (14) of which the intensity is attenuated by the dispersive Fourier transform unit, generate an image merely by detecting the transmitted light (15) from the test object (18, 20), and yield high throughput of image generation in which the effect on the test object (18, 20) is suppressed.
