A novel hydroxide complex with condensed silicate represented by the formula (I) ??Al2(Li(1-x).M<2+>x) (OH)6??2(Siy O2y+1<2->)1+x.mH2O wherein M<2+> is a divalent metal, m, x and y are numbers respectively in the ranges of 0 </= m < 5, 0 </= x < 1 and 2 </= y </= 4, a process for preparing the same, an infrared absorber containing the same as an effective ingredient, and an agricultural film containing said infrared absorber. Said hydroxide complex with condensed silicate has high infrared ray absorbitivity and exhibits good dispersibility in a resin when incorporated into the resin, and it has a refractive index close to that of a resin to be incorporated. The resin composition is formed into a film, whereby there can be provided an agricultural film having excellent heat insulation property and transparency. <IMAGE>
