The present invention provides a peptide having 2 to 10 amino acids or a derivative thereof which is able to restore wild type function of human p53, for use in therapy and a method of screening a library of molecules for the ability of members of that library to restore or modify the function of a target protein in an intracellular environment, which method comprises introducing the library into host cells which have a reporter system which allows the identification of those cells in which the function of the target protein has been restored or modified.Linvention concerne un peptide comportant 2 à 10 acides aminés ou un dérivé de ce dernier, pouvant rétablir la fonction type sauvage du gène humain p53 et destiné à être utilisé dans le cadre dun traitement. Linvention se rapporte également à un procédé permettant de cribler une bibliothèque de molécules pour détecter la capacité des éléments de cette bibliothèque à modifier ou rétablir la fonction dune protéine cible dans un environnement intracellulaire. Ce procédé comprend létape consistant à introduire la bibliothèque dans des cellules hôtes pourvues dun système de reporteurs qui permet didentifier les cellules dans lesquelles la fonction de la protéine cible a été rétablie ou modifiée.
