PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article having excellent handleability and leakage prevention effects by forming high leakage prevention walls on both sides while suppressing excessive shrinkage of an absorber by an elastic body.SOLUTION: An absorbent article includes: three-dimensional gathers 5 disposed on both sides in the longitudinal direction X and an absorber 4 having lower-layer and upper-layer absorbent cores 41 and 42. The lower-layer absorbent core 41 has a narrow-width part 41c, a front wide-width part 41a, and a rear wide-width part 41b. The front and rear wide-width parts 41a and 41b have flap parts 41d and 41e extending from both-side edges 421 of the upper-layer absorbent core. Each three-dimensional gather 5 includes a first elastic body 52 disposed near a free end 5a in an extended state, and adjacency of the free end 5a is fixed onto the upper-layer absorbent core 42 at end areas A and B of the article. The three-dimensional gather 5, in the article development state, is disposed with a second elastic body 53 at a position separated from the first elastic body 52 outward in the width direction so as to extend from a portion on the flap part 41d of the front wide-width part to a portion on the flap part 41e of the rear wide-width part.
