PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ophthalmic observation apparatus which suitably detects a blink while carrying out OCT (optical coherence tomography) measurement.
SOLUTION: The ophthalmic observation apparatus 1 carries out a series of OCT measurement by controlling a light source unit 101 and by intermittently outputting low coherence light L0. At the same time, the ophthalmic observation apparatus detects generation of a blink of a subject eye E by controlling an observation light source 11, a CCD image sensor 35, and a blink detecting/processing section 231 or the like. The intermittent output timing of the low coherence light L0 and the detection timing of a blink are synchronized. When a blink is detected, the ophthalmic observation apparatus 1 moves the irradiation position of signal light LS back to an irradiation position of a past detection timing when a blink was not detected and restarts scanning. When a blink is not detected during a detection carried out just after signal light LS is irradiated on the last irradiation position, the ophthalmic observation apparatus 1 photographs the fundus Ef in response.
