PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous cosmetic composition having superior characteristics such as prevention of pigment precipitation, saving of stirring before use, and a good spread when applied.SOLUTION: The aqueous cosmetic composition is characterized by containing at least a synthetic smectite and a xanthan gum as viscosity modifiers, a film-forming agent, and a pigment.
