PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber suitable for an olefin polymer nonwoven fabric, reducing smoke generation on producing the nonwoven fabric, and excellent in both of initial hydrophilicity and durable hydrophilicity, and the nonwoven fabric.
SOLUTION: This fiber includes an olefin-based polymer composition containing 0.5 to 5 pts.wt. of di-saturated fatty acid ester of a polyalkylene glycol expressed by formula, R-COO-(C
