A method of placing a dental implant at an implant site in the jaw bone of a patient, said method comprising: (a) without reflecting soft tissue covering the implant site causing a tip of a piezoelectric device to pierce the soft tissue so that the tip comes into direct contact with underlying jaw bone at the implant site； (b) making a starter bore, but not a full-depth osteotomy, at the implant site with the piezoelectric device； and (c) placing the dental implant into the implant site through the starter bore. Alternatively, a tissue punch may be used to create a hole in the soft tissue through which hole access can be gained to the underlying jaw bone for subsequent starter boring with the piezoelectric device.L'invention concerne un procédé de mise en place d'un implant dentaire au niveau d'un site d'implant dans l'os de mâchoire d'un patient, ledit procédé consistant : (a) sans réfléchir le tissu mou recouvrant le site d'implant, à amener une pointe d'un dispositif piézoélectrique à percer le tissu mou de sorte que la pointe vienne en contact direct avec l'os de mâchoire sous-jacent au niveau du site d'implant ； (b) à réaliser un alésage de démarreur, mais non une ostéotomie de pleine profondeur, au niveau du site d'implant avec le dispositif piézoélectrique ； et (c) à mettre en place l'implant dentaire dans le site d'implant à travers l'alésage de démarreur. En variante, un poinçon de tissu peut être utilisé en vue de créer un trou dans le tissu mou à travers lequel trou un accès à l'os de mâchoire sous-jacent peut être obtenu pour un alésage de démarreur subséquent avec le dispositif piézoélectrique.
