PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medicine or the like capable of preventing or treating arthritis. The present invention provides a preventive or therapeutic agent for arthritis, a pharmaceutical composition, a medical device, a food or a beverage, which contains silicon fine particles. Oral administration of fine silicon particles or indwelling on the skin or mucous membranes can prevent or treat arthritis, and its preventive and/or therapeutic effects are excellent. The silicon fine particles are fine particles containing silicon capable of generating hydrogen in contact with water, and are preferably silicon fine particles and/or aggregates of the silicon fine particles.
