Provided are an endoscopic image stereo matching method using a direct attenuation model and an apparatus thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a depth image generation method comprises the following steps of: creating a stereo image； and estimating a depth image from the stereo image based on a tendency that light of illumination used in generating the stereo image is attenuated. Therefore, geometry inside a gastrointestinal tract can be estimated by acquiring an accurate depth image by using an image acquired by a capsule endoscope.COPYRIGHT KIPO 2020직접 감쇄 모델을 이용한 내시경 영상 스테레오 정합 방법 및 장치가 제공된다. 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 깊이 영상 생성 방법은, 스테레오 영상을 생성하고, 스테레오 영상을 생성하는데 이용되는 조명의 빛이 감쇄되는 경향성을 기초로 스테레오 영상으로부터 깊이 영상을 추정한다. 이에 의해, 캡슐 내시경에서 획득한 영상을 이용하여 정교한 깊이 영상을 획득할 수 있어, 위장관 내부의 기하학적 구조를 추정할 수 있게 된다.
