The invention concerns a system (2000) comprising:- a positioning system (1000), comprising:- at least one light source (30),- a stereo sensor (200), configured to sense light emitted from the light source (30) or to sense shadow cast on the stereo sensor (200) by light emitted from the light source (30),- a processor (50) configured to compute a first N degrees of freedom position of the object, said object being said light source or said stereo sensor,- a machine-learning module (10) configured for receiving as an input the first N degrees of freedom position (OUT') of the object and being configured to output a second N degrees of freedom position (OUT) of the object, wherein the accuracy of the second N degrees of freedom position (OUT) of the object is improved with regard to the accuracy of the first N degrees of freedom position (OUT') of the object.
