The present invention relates to a formulation comprising 4-methylpyrazole or a physiologically acceptable salt thereof and a polyethylene glycol having a total weight average molecular weight of from 200 to 1000 and/or a Magnesium Alumino-metasilicate and the use thereof for treating or preventing ethanol intolerance or toxic side effects of acetaldehyde accumulation or as an antidote in confirmed or suspected methanol or ethylene glycol poisoning.
