PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an acetic acid-enzyme treated product of Apios americana by easily taking out hypotension peptides for preventing hypertension, one of life style-related diseases, from Apios americana in high yield and preparing hypotensors, hypertension prophylactic agents, functional foods and the like using them, the Apios ameriana-derived peptides and a method for producing the same.

SOLUTION: An almost homogeneous solution containing the Apios americana-derived peptides by adding acetic acid to Apios americana in ten times volume, heating at 30-40°C, digesting at 37°C for more than 24 hours using pepsin. The treated product may be prepared by drying the same at reduced pressure or pulverizing after lyophilization.
