PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article in which wing portions are hardly from broken and are freely enfolded in the crotch portion of shorts, and in which an absorbent body is easily follow the body when it is worn.SOLUTION: The absorbent article has a body 10, the wing portions 5 extending out from both sides of the body 10, and side leakage preventing portions 6 covering both sides on a skin abutting surface side of the body 10. The side leakage preventing portions 6 are composed of water-repellent side sheets 61. The side sheets 61 extend out from both sides of the body 10 and form the whole or a part of the wing portions 5, and the side sheets 61 and a back surface sheet 3 are joined by heat seal lines in the width-direction outer part of an absorber 4.
