The present invention relates to a novel macrofilaricidal composition for treatment and/or prevention of filariasis comprising one or more monoterpene derivatives having phenolic characteristics isolated from plant parts of Trachyspermum ammi (Apiaceae). More particularly, the present invention relates to a novel macrofilaricidal composition comprising an extract obtained from Trachyspermum ammi (Apiaceae) having one or more monoterpene derivatives having phenolic characteristics.
