PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for application to mucous membrane, enhanced in antiseptic power of tromethamol, exhibiting a superior antiseptic effect without blending conventionally used anticeptics, also high in safety for inflamed mucous membranes, and specially to provide ophthalmological and otolaryngological compositions.SOLUTION: A method of enhancing the antiseptic power of the ophthalmological composition includes blending 0.0001-0.1 w/v% of a terpenoid selected from the group consisting of menthol, camphor, borneol, geraniol and linalool, with an ophthalmological composition containing 0.1-5 w/v% of tromethamol.COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT【課題】トロメタモールの防腐力を高め、従来使用されている防腐剤を配合しなくても優れた防腐効力を奏し、且つ炎症を起こしている粘膜に対する安全性が高い粘膜外用剤、特に眼科用組成物と耳鼻科用組成物を提供する。【解決手段】トロメタモール0.1~5w/v%を含有する眼科用組成物に、メントール、カンフル、ボルネオール、ゲラニオール及びリナロールから選ばれるテルペノイド類0.0001~0.1w/v%を配合することを特徴とする眼科用組成物の防腐力向上方法。【選択図】なし
