PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition applicable to an ophthalmic composition, presenting a new antimicrobial agent substitutable for an antimicrobial agent which is frequently used hitherto in the field, and having characteristics such as safety, stability or, needless to say, excellent antimicrobial activity in particular.SOLUTION: It is found that piroctone olamine having satisfactory results as a main agent for preventing dandruff or itch in a quasi drug has weak irritant properties to eye mucosa, and shows excellent antimicrobial activity with high safety when being used as an ophthalmic composition.COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT【課題】眼科用組成物に適用でき、当該分野で従来繁用されている抗菌剤に代替しうる新規な抗菌剤を提示すること、特に抗菌力に優れることは言うまでもなく、安全性、安定性などの特性を有する組成物を提供すること【解決手段】医薬部外品におけるフケ・かゆみの防止用主剤として実績のあるピロクトンオラミンが、眼粘膜に対する刺激性が低く、眼科用組成物として使用することで良好な抗菌力を付与しかつ高い安全性を有することを見出した。【選択図】なし
