PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus capable of providing improved high-definition diagnosis images by eliminating deterioration in amplification efficiency of magnetic resonance signals, transmission loss in a transmission line, an effect of noise entering signals, and difficulty of isolation.
SOLUTION: This magnetic resonance imaging apparatus 1 which forms an image based on magnetic resonance signals received from a subject to which electromagnetic waves are transmitted in a static magnetic field, is provided with a receiving coil part 14b for receiving the magnetic resonance signals, and the receiving coil part 14b includes an antenna part 41 receiving the magnetic resonance signals and outputting electric signals, a light modulator 103 using an electric field by electromagnetic induction generated in the antenna part 41 by the magnetic resonance signals received by the antenna part 41 as modulating signals, and a light transmission path transmitting the light signals modulated by the light modulator 44 as signals for forming the image.
