A syringe 1 comprises a barrel 2 and a plunger 3 sliding in the barrel and having a seal 8 in sealing engagement with an internal surface of the barrel, the barrel having a piercing member 20 with a piercing point 27 and an aperture 26 at its distal end. The aperture 26 is in communication with the distal end of the barrel, and the distal end of the barrel has a connection member 28 to which an adapter member 36 provided with an intradermal needle 39 is adapted to be attached.
