The present invention provides a combination of insoluble whey protein particles (referred to as Type A particles) having a particle size in the range of 1 to 10 microns with acid gellable whey protein aggregates (referred to as Type B particles). It relates to a new type of food ingredient to be contained. The present invention further relates to a whey protein-based yogurt-like product containing a combination of type A and type B particles and a method for producing food ingredients and whey protein-based yogurt-like products.
