Ein DMSO-Solvat-Hydrat von Erythromycin mit einer chemischen Zusammensetzung von ungefähr E·2DMSO·xH2O mit x = 1 bis 2 wird erhalten, indem man Erythromycin in wasserhaltigem DMSO auflöst und die Lösung einengt. Die DMSO- und Wasser-Moleküle sind in das Kristallgitter eingebaut.Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) solvate hydrate of erythromycin (I) is new. Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) solvate hydrate of erythromycin of formula (E.xDMSO.yH 2O) (I) is new. E : erythromycin x : 1.5-2.5, preferably 1.9-2.1 and y : 0-3, preferably 1-2. Independent claims are included for: (1) a mixture comprising (I) with one or more another phase of erythromycin containing at least 10, preferably 75 wt.% of (I) and (2) the preparation of (I). ACTIVITY : Antibacterial Auditory Antiinflammatory Respiratory-Gen. Ophthalmological Antiseborrheic Dermatological Fungicide Antipyretic Antirheumatic. MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given.
