PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cause light to be focused by high enhancement depending on a desired position as in the inside of a medium, etc.SOLUTION: A light irradiation device comprises: spatial light modulation means 107 for modulating light from a light source 100 and forming a wavefront of the light an optical system 108 for irradiating a medium with the light having had the wavefront formed detection means 110 for detecting a signal generated from the medium irradiated with the light and control means 111 for carrying out an optimization process for causing a wavefront to be formed by the spatial light modulation means so that the strength of a signal detected in the inside of the medium or at an external detection position.
