PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the leakage from the front/rear ends of a product by suppressing the diffusion of body fluid in the longitudinal direction of an absorbent article.
SOLUTION: This absorbent article has an absorbent body interposed between a liquid permeable surface sheet and a back sheet, and a hydrophilic second sheet interposed between the liquid permeable surface sheet and the absorbent body. The liquid permeable surface sheet and/or the hydrophilic second sheet is formed of nonwoven fabric having a fiber orientation in one direction, and is so disposed as to have the fiber orientation in the approximately shorter direction of the absorbent article, or is so disposed that the 50% or more of the total fiber weight constituting the sheet has the fiber orientation within the range of -45°-+45° to the shorter direction of the absorbent article.
