PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preservation container of fruit and vegetables and a preservation method of fruit and vegetables which can keep fresh appearance of fruit and vegetables and, thereby, can preserve the fruit and the vegetables for a long period.SOLUTION: The preservation container 10 includes: a container body 20 in which concave parts 20a for storing strawberries S individually in the closed state; and a water retention material 30, disposed on the container body, which is in contact with the strawberries and replenishes water. The water retention material 30 prepared by mixing Shirasu into a water absorptive polymer formed into grains can be used. When the strawberries S are stored in the recessed parts 20a, the strawberries S are arranged with calyxes side down such that the calyxes H are brought into contact with the water retention material 30 formed into grains.【課題】青果物の瑞々しい外観を保つことができることで長期間保存することができる青果物の保存容器および青果物の保存方法を提供する。【解決手段】保存容器10は、苺Sを密閉状態で個々に収納する凹部20aが形成された容器本体20に、苺Sに接して水分を補給する保水材30を備えたものである。保水材30は、粒状に形成された吸水性ポリマーにシラスを混在させたものが使用できる。この凹部20aに苺Sを収納するときに、粒状に形成された保水材30に蔕Hが接するように、蔕Hを下にした状態で配置する。【選択図】図1
