According to an aspect of the present application, a bird deterrence systemis proposed comprising a laser device for producing a laser beam； comprisingscanning equipment for rotating the laser beam at designated lateral andelevational angular speeds relative to the normal axis； a power supply forfeeding the laser device and the scanning equipment； and a control unit forcontrolling the laser device and scanning equipment. An input module isprogrammed, in a teach mode, to control the scanning equipment byrotating the laser beam at designated lateral and elevational angles,wherein the input module further comprises an identification routine toidentify said designated lateral and elevational angles as waypoints for saidsuccessive waypoints defining a laser scanning area； and to store thewaypoints in the control unit, and wherein the input module furthercomprises a routine for defining a maximum elevational angle； and whereinthe control unit is programmed to de-activate the laser beam for elevationalangles larger than the maximum designated elevational angle.
