The present invention relates to a composition comprising a nopal powder and red rice yeast, characterized in that the nopal powder is a powder of which the particle size is such that 37% of the particles have a size of between 104 ??m and 515 ??m, the rest of the particles having a size of less than 106 ??m, and less than 60% of the particles have a size of less than 75 ??m, and in that the red rice yeast is a yeast of which the statin concentration is at least 0.5% by weight relative to the total weight of the red rice yeast. In addition, the invention relates to a food supplement comprising this composition, to a method for obtaining this supplement or this composition and, finally, to the use of this supplement or of this composition for reducing the LDL-cholesterol level and the triglyceride level.
