PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a timber drying device capable of being easily used at low cost, promoting the drying of timber with a pith, and suppressing a risk of surface cracking. SOLUTION: This timber drying device 1 for drying the timber X with a pith having a back split groove Y reaching a central portion in the radial direction of a wood grain over an entire length comprises a supporting body 5 for supporting the timber X with a pith at a prescribed posture, and a long heating element 4 capable of being inserted into the back split groove Y.
