PURPOSE: A novel Lactobacillus plantarum strain and antibacterial and antioxidative probiotics are provided to be used in foods or feed additives. CONSTITUTION: A Lactobacillus plantarum KACC91579P is selected from onions. The strain has an antibacterial or antioxidative activity. A probiotic composition contains the strain. A feed additive composition contains the strain. A medium composition for culturing the strain contains 40-60% of onion juice or onion extract, 0.5-3%(w/v) of sugar, and yeast extract. A method for culturing the strain comprises a step of fermenting in a medium containing 40-60% of onion juice or onion extract.본 발명은 항균 및 항산화 활성을 가지는 생균제 및 그 용도에 관한 것으로 더욱 상세하게는 발효 양파로부터 선별된 신규한 락토바실러스 플랜타럼(Lactobacillusplantarum) SK1990 및 그 균주를 포함한 생균제 조성물, 그 균주의 배양 배지 조성 및 그 배양방법에 관한 것이다.
