PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic for cleansing for safely removing an emulsified type mascara having water resistance without requiring great efforts when the mascara is to be removed.SOLUTION: The cosmetic for cleansing is obtained by including a polyhydric alcohol ester of caprylic acid and/or capric acid. The polyhydric alcohol residue composing the polyhydric alcohol ester of the caprylic acid and/or capric acid is preferably a propylene glycol residue or a glycerol residue.
