In a method for processing drilling mud enriched with organic constituents such as crude oil or drilling chemicals, it is proposed to contact the drilling mud in a reaction zone at elevated pressure (20 to 200 bar) and, if necessary, elevated temperature (below 200 DEG C) with a solvent consisting of C2- to C5-hydrocarbons and appropriately to work up the product fraction being obtained. To improve the mass transfers, the drilling mud and the solvent are fed into the reaction zone by means of a jet nozzle.
