Individual agricultural assets at a remote location are each equippedwith at least one condition sensor in communication with a location-basedcontrollingtransceiver, which in turn communicates with a central monitoring system. Thetransceiver will monitor data received from the condition sensors and inaccordancewith predetermined notification parameters will send a signal to the centralmonitoringsystem only when a notification condition, for example an elevated temperaturereading in the instance of a grain bin, is detected. By only communicatingwhen atransmission bandwidth requirements between the transceiver and the centralmonitoring system are minimized. Further transmission bandwidth reduction canbeachieved by limiting the notification condition parameters limitingtransceiver packet.Various conditions including temperature, gas levels or presence, volume orotherconditions of various types of assets could be monitored remotely in this way.
