PURPOSE: A walking assistance device is provided to deliver a movement assisting power for a hip joint movement to a wearer and to easily select an operation mode of a hip joint actuator. CONSTITUTION: A walking assistance device includes a waist wearing part(110) which is worn at the waist of a wearer； a femoral region member(140) which is worn in the femoral region of the wearer； a hip joint actuator(120) which is combined with the waist wearing part and generates torque to assist the forward and backward rotational movements of the femoral region member toward the waist wearing part, corresponding to the walking intention of the wearer； and a mode selecting part which generates neither an active joint generating the torque nor the torque and makes a manual joint move according to the walking intention of the wearer.착용자가 고관절 액츄에이터의 작동 모드를 손쉽게 선택 가능하고, 착용자의 보행 이상 시 발생할 수 있는 부상 위험을 미연에 방지하는 보행 보조 장치에 관한 것이다. 이를 위해, 본 발명에 따른 보행 보조 장치는 착용자의 허리에 착용되는 허리 착용부； 착용자의 대퇴부에 착용되는 대퇴부 부재； 허리 착용부에 결합되며, 착용자의 보행 의도에 대응하여 허리 착용부에 대한 대퇴부 부재의 전후 회전 움직임을 보조하는 토크를 발생시키는 고관절 액츄에이터； 및 고관절 액츄에이터의 동작 여부를 선택하여, 고관절 액츄에이터가 착용자의 보행 의도에 대응하여 토크를 발생시키는 능동 관절, 또는 토크를 발생시키지 않으며 착용자의 보행 의도대로 움직이는 수동 관절로 동작하게 하는 모드 선택부를 포함한다.
