PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide compounds useful as inhibitors of Aurora protein kinases.SOLUTION: Aurora protein is three kinds of association serine/threonine kinase groups (called as Aurora-A, -B and -C) indispensable for a progress of a mitotic phase of a cell cycle. Aurora-A and B or -C excessive expressions are observed in various human cancer including colorectal cancer, ovarian cancer, gastric cancer, and wetting-out glandular carcinoma. The present invention relates to compounds useful as inhibitors of Aurora protein kinases. The invention also provides pharmaceutically acceptable compositions comprising those compounds and methods of using the compounds and compositions in the treatment of various disease, conditions, and disorders.
