PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorant composition and a deodorizing method capable of suppressing a sebum odor and effectively deodorizing fiber products and an indoor space.SOLUTION: [1] A deodorant composition contains (A) citric acid or a salt thereof of 0.05 mass% or more, (B) aliphatic α-hydroxycarboxylic acid having fiber moisture holding ability or a salt thereof (excluding component (A)), and water. The mass ratio [(A)/(B)] of the component (A) to the component (B) is 0.02 or more and 50 or less in terms of each acid type of the component (A) and the component (B).
