PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorant composition safe in contact with human body, capable of reducing complex odors derived from such as perspiration and aldehydes, and capable of being easily prepared in an aqueous deodorant composition, and to provide a deodorizing method.

SOLUTION: The deodorant composition contains polyhydroxy amine compound having a specified structure and/or its salt (a) and a cationic surfactant (b). The cationic surfactant (b) contains in molecule 12-36C saturation or unsaturation hydrocarbon group to be divided by one ester group or more, etc., and is the compound containing tertiary amine group or its salt or quaternary ammonium group, etc. A deodorizing method is the method using the deodorant composition.
