A cyanoacrylate composition comprises (a) at least one 2-cyanoacrylate and (b) at least one monoether of a hydroxyl-terminated ethylene glycol-propylene glycol copolymer. The 2-cyanoacrylate may be a C4-30 alkyl 2-cyanoacrylate, with 2-octyl 2-cyanoacrylate being especially preferred. The monoether of a hydroxyl-terminated ethylene glycol-propylene glycol copolymer may be a monoalkyl ether, especially a C2-10 alkyl monoether, such as monobutyl ether. The copolymer is preferably a random copolymer with a weight average molecular weight of 250-4500 g/mol. The composition may contain 60-99.9 wt.% 2-cyanoacrylate and 0.1-20 wt.% copolymer and may be in sterile form. The invention extends to the use of the copolymer to simultaneously increase the polymerisation of the cyanoacrylate and the flexibility of the polymerised product. A method of closing a wound by applying the composition to the wound is also disclosed.
