PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of surface sheets easily manufacturing the surface sheets having recessed parts with bottoms and having a superior cushion property.
SOLUTION: This manufacturing method of the surface sheets for manufacturing surface sheets 1 for absorbent articles having multiple recesses by feeding a material sheet 20 to an interval between a male member 5 having multiple projections 51 and a female member 6 having multiple receiving holes 61, pushing parts of the material sheet 20 into the receiving holes 61 by the projections 51, deforming them into recessed shape, and fixing the recessed deformed shapes by heating, is characterized in pushing nonwoven fabric as the material sheet 20 into the receiving holes 61 so as to produce parts 23 which come into non-contact with the projections 51 or the inner faces of the receiving holes 61, around the circumferences of the parts 24 directly pushed by the tip ends of the projections 51, and the tip end positions of the projections 51 with their inserted into the receiving holes 61 or the inner faces 61a of the receiving holes extending to positions deeper than those are fixed by heating.
